Responsibilities

Your Role:

 

As a Credit and Collections Specialist you will be responsible for managing the company’s credit policies and collecting outstanding debts from customers. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can effectively communicate with clients, resolve disputes, and ensure timely payments while maintaining positive customer relationships.

 

  • Evaluate and approve credit applications based on company criteria.
  • Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments.
  • Contact customers to discuss their accounts and arrange payment plans if necessary.
  • Resolve billing and payment discrepancies by working with internal departments and
    customers.
  • Prepare and send out invoices and account statements to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collections activities and customer communications.
  • Prepare reports on the status of accounts and collections activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations regarding credit and collections.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to maintain positive relationships with clients.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a credit and collections specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of credit and collections processes and principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Waste industry experience preferred.
