Responsibilities

Your Role:

As a Shop Welder you will be responsible for performing welding tasks to fabricate, repair, and maintain metal structures and equipment used in waste management operations.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

    • Perform welding tasks on metal components, including structural steel, pipes, and equipment
    • Fabricate and assemble metal parts according to blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings
    • Repair damaged or worn equipment to restore functionality and prolong service life.
    • Inspect welds and finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety standards
    • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including welding activities, repairs, and material usage
    • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or operational concerns to the supervisor or manager
    • Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and managers to coordinate welding activities and support operational goals

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification or relevant vocational training in welding required
  • Proven experience as a welder, preferably in the waste management or construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions
  • Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
