Your Role:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator – Grinder, you will be responsible for operating grinding equipment to process materials efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

• Operate grinding equipment to crush, grind, and prepare materials for recycling or disposal at various sites.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of grinding machinery to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on grinding equipment to maintain optimal performance.
• Follow site plans and specifications to execute grinding tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations while operating grinding equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate operations and ensure seamless workflow.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any operational issues encountered.
• Assist in site clean-up and organization as needed, ensuring a safe and tidy work environment.
• Monitor and adjust equipment settings as necessary to achieve desired material specifications and production rates.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in heavy equipment operation preferred
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment grinder, preferably in the waste management or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of excavator and loader operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
