Responsibilities

Your Role:

As a Millwright/Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing critical machinery, ensuring optimal functionality for our waste processing and recycling systems. Your expertise will support the operation of equipment, including water control gearboxes, conveyors, and pumps. This role involves a mix of mechanical maintenance, welding, fabrication, and safety compliance, working to keep systems performing efficiently and safely.

  • Overhaul, repair, and maintain various mechanical systems, including water control gates, gearboxes, and pumps.
  • Rebuild gearboxes by replacing or reconditioning worn or damaged parts.
  • Perform welding (arc, heliarc/TIG, MIG) and thermal cutting on various materials.
  • Design and fabricate custom parts when specifications are unavailable.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to prevent machinery breakdowns.
  • Use precision tools such as micrometers and calipers for accurate measurements.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and regulations.
  • Keep records of maintenance activities in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Millwright, specializing in industrial machinery repair.
  • At least 5 years of experience in advanced welding techniques (arc, heliarc/TIG, MIG, and thermal cutting).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools and metalworking equipment.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
