Responsibilities

Your Role:

As a Lead Dispatcher, you will oversee the daily operations of our waste collection services, mentor and guide dispatchers, and collaborate across departments to ensure the highest service standards.

  • Supervising and guiding a team of dispatchers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Scheduling and dispatching vehicles and drivers according to customer needs and routing requirements.
  • Monitoring and optimizing route progress to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Providing leadership and problem-solving support during escalated customer inquiries and service interruptions.
  • Collaborating with maintenance staff to ensure vehicles are properly serviced and operational.
  • Keeping detailed records of all dispatch activities, including driver logs, route changes, and service calls.
  • Training and mentoring new dispatchers on best practices and company policies.
  • Communicating effectively with drivers and customers to maintain compliance and satisfaction.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a dispatcher, preferably in waste management or transportation.
  • Strong leadership skills and prior team management experience.
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software and related computer applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of local geography and road networks.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Creole) is a plus.
